Odí is originally from Rinn Ua gCuanach in the Waterford Gaeltacht.
Odí completed a B.A. in Irish and English and a postgraduate qualification (ATO) in the National University of Ireland, Galway. She spent seven years working as a secondary school teacher and during that time she completed an M.A. sa Chultúr agus Cumarsáid in Dublin City University.
She is working in Ionad na Ceathrún Rua since 2000 and among the work she does is directing, teaching and designing various Irish courses that are run by an tAcadamh.
She has a great interest in sean-nós singing and often takes part in, as well as being an adjudicator ag Féile an Oireachtais.
She can be heard singing on the Cois Mara Thoir sa Rinn and Briseann an Dúchas cds, alongside her mother and sister.
She founded and wrote the social column Ócáidí Odí in the weekly newspaper, Foinse, and some of her material is also published on the internet magazine Beo.
She also writes material for Breacadh, a magazine for adult learners.
