Biography

Máirín is living in Cor na Rón, Indreabhán, Co. Galway. 

She spent a while working in the Office of the Revenue Commissioners in Dublin and after that in the Admissions Office in the National University of Ireland, Galway.  She completed a B.A. degree in 1976 and the Certificate in Teaching Irish (T.T.G.) in 1990.

She spent eight years working as the Director of Naíonra Lurgan, Indreabhán, while she was raising her own family and she was an active member of the Naíonra Committee.

Máirín worked as a part-time teacher in Oifig na Gaeilge Labhartha, the National University of Ireland, Galway and she spent several years teaching Irish in Coláiste Lurgan in Indreabhán (Summer College).  In 2003 she completed an M.A. entitled ’Aistriúchán Mhichíl Bhreathnaigh ar Chnoc na nGabha’.
She is working with an tAcadamh as a Language Executive since October 2005. 

She is involed in researching and designing material for Irish classes.  She also helps with the direction and teaching of intensive courses, specialised courses; courses for students; Irish night classes for the community and the Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge.
