Caitríona is from Camus in Connemara.
She completed a B.A. in Irish in the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2005 and the Certificate in Teaching Irish (T.T.G) in 2006.
She was awarded a University scholarship for the academic year 2004.
In the nineties, she worked with Gael Linn and Siamsa Tíre in Tralee. She worked with Cumas Teo. in Ros Muc between 1994 and 1998.
After that she was self-employed and worked with young people and community development initiatives.
She has a great interest in creative writing and won the first prize in the Prose Competition in an tOireachtas in 2004.
Her play entitled Incubus, was awarded a prize in the Walter Macken Writing Competition in 2004 and this play was staged in An Taidhbhearc in 2005.
She enjoys acting and has won a few acting awards. She composes songs and her song Deartháirín Óg mo Chroí won the first prize in the International Pan Celtic Festival in 1993.
She is working with an tAcadamh since October 2005.
