Diarmuid de Faoite is well known to both television (RTE, TG4) and theatre audiences (Town Hall/Druid/POC etc), particularly through his Irish language work. He has won both The Stewart Parker Trust Award and Duais Aitheantais an Oireachtais for his one-man play, 'Pádraic Ó Conaire' and, together with Paul Brennan and Lara Campbell, won 'Best Production' for POC’s stage adaptation of 'Paris,Texas' for The ESB Dublin Fringe.
With Johnny White's Seanchas productions he won Best Feature Documentary at the Celtic Media Fesitval 2008.
Diarmuid has taught drama at all levels (primary, secondary, university, community, corporate, amateur and professional) and is currently working with NUIG where he teaches on the Higher Diploma in Drama, the Diploma in Acting and the Diploma in Traditional Music courses..
His most recent work includes' Someone Who'll Watch Over Me' and 'The Lieutenant of InishMore' for The Town Hall Theatre/Cork Opera House; 'Mamó Gé' for An Taibhdhearc (director), 'Pádraic Ó Conaire - An Fear', a drama documentary for Seanchas productions (writer/researcher/performer) and 'The Fairgreen Slaughterhouse' for POC (winner Best Production, Project '06).
He is currently editing a collection of short stories by Pádraic Ó Conaire, due for publication in the Autumn.
