Biography Norita was born in Cinn Mhara, Camus. She has vast experience in the area of radio broadcasting, television broadcasting and teaching of Irish.   She is working with an tAcadamh since 2004.  Experience in radio broadcasting Norita started her broadcasting career presenting programmes for young people, programmes such as Toirtín, which was aimed at teenagers. She began working with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta in June 1989 and she spent 16 years working at the station in Casla, Connemara. She spent more than six years working in the newsroom with the station and the rest of her time there in the programmes department.  During the years Norita spent in Casla she was involved with the main programmes on the station, including: Adhmhaidin. A current affairs programme.  Do Bharúil. A national programme, aimed at the participation of the country’s community.  Scéal Aniar. Magazine programme for the West of Ireland, aimed at the Galway, Mayo and Meath Gaeltacht areas.  Camchuairt. This programme was aimed at the smaller Gaeltacht areas.   Seó Beo an tSathairn. A weekly programme based on events of the day. She has vast experience of dealing with the news and with broadcasting in general.    Experience in television broadcasting Norita has also done some television work. She was involved in the presenting and research for the documentary called Na hAingil, and the folklore collection series, Críonnacht. She also presented several programmes down through the years. Among the programmes were: Seo do Sheans. A quiz.  Teaghlaigh. A discussion series. Among the voice-over work she has done: An Lasair Cheilteach. An Craiceann agus a Luach. Publicity about the work done by Oifig an Choimisinéara Teanga. Teaching experience She was employed by the organisation Gaeleagras for 14 years as an Irish teacher and communications consultant. She was involved in the development of short training courses for civil servants to help them gain broadcasting skills through Irish. Between 2003 and 2005 it was Norita who set and taught some of the Radio Broadcasting modules for the Dioplóma Iarchéime san Aistriúchán and the Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge Fheidhmeach organised by Europus, the Language Company, under the auspices of Údarás na Gaeltachta.  She has been involved in many conferences and meetings down through the years and she has acted as chairperson at many sessions about planning and the Irish language. She has a great interest in the subjects mentioned above and is involved in their promotion. She is currently studying for an M.A. i Modheolaíochtaí do Theagasc Teangacha (An Ghaeilge).
