Norita started her broadcasting career presenting programmes for young people, programmes such as Toirtín, which was aimed at teenagers. She began working with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta in June 1989 and she spent 16 years working at the station in Casla, Connemara. She spent more than six years working in the newsroom with the station and the rest of her time there in the programmes department.
During the years Norita spent in Casla she was involved with the main programmes on the station, including:

Adhmhaidin. A current affairs programme.

Do Bharúil. A national programme, aimed at the participation of the country’s community.

Scéal Aniar. Magazine programme for the West of Ireland, aimed at the Galway, Mayo and Meath Gaeltacht areas.

Camchuairt. This programme was aimed at the smaller Gaeltacht areas.

Seó Beo an tSathairn. A weekly programme based on events of the day.
She has vast experience of dealing with the news and with broadcasting in general.
