Dan is originally from Caherconlish Co. Limerick and he began working with an tAcadamh in February 2006.
He began working with the Rehab Group in Dublin as a Project Co-Ordinator on the programme called Mediability, designing and co-ordinating a unique media training programme for adults throughout the country.
Dan founded the television production company Léirithe Pictia Teo. in 2002 and he has produced television programmes and visual corporate programmes for TG4, the University of Limerick and some other organisations.
Before that he spent three years working as a Production Manager with the production and television training company An Fhiontarlann Teo., a company which was run by the National University of Ireland, Galway in the Connemara Gaeltacht. He directed and produced numerous television programmes for TG4 on behalf of An Fhiontarlann Teo., the magazine series Idir Mhagadh’s Dáiríre included.

Idir Mhagadh ’s Dáiríre: Series 3 and 4. A weekly magazine programme based in the Gaeltacht. It dealt with important issues and humourous sketches and it was a highly successful programme on TG4. This role also included commissioning material from independent Irish production companies.

Na hAingil: A documentary for TG4 based on the major effect that an unusual skin condition had on a particular family. This programme received major coverage in the local media and it was repeated on a few occassions.

An Clár Pleanála: A half-hour documentary for TG4 about the planning difficulties people have in the countryside in Ireland at the moment. TG4 named this programme for the European Regional Circom awards in 2002 in the ’Current Affairs’ category.

Faoi Bhláth Threasa: A half-hour documentary about the life of St. Thérèse of Lisieux and her relics, that were taken on a tour around Ireland.
