Biography

Mairéad is originally from An Cheathrú Rua. 

She is working as a Translation Executive in the Translation Office since 2004. 

She has a B.A. in Irish and English from the National University of Ireland, Galway as well as an M.A. i Staidéar an Aistriúcháin. 

Mairéad worked as administrator of the Students Union Translation Office while she attended University. She completed her work experience in An Gúm and after completing the M.A. i Staidéar an Aistriúcháin she began working in the Houses of the Oireachtas, where she translated legislative texts and worked as an interpreter.

She returned to Galway and began teaching the Dioplóma i Scileanna Aistriúcháin and the M.A. i Staidéar an Aistriúcháin in the University. Mairéad is now responsible for managing the University's Translation Service. 

Mairéad has received accreditation from Foras na Gaeilge and her name is published on the official panel of translators on their website.
