Áine has a particular interest in the role of translation in the Irish language media, the Irish dialects, the Ulster dialect in particular, and topics relating to the rights of minority languages in Europe.
Prior to this, Áine was the administrator of the Students Union Translation Office and a part-time lecturer in Gaeilge Chumarsáideach and Litríocht na Nua-Ghaeilge in the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. She has a B.A. in Irish and German as well as M.A. sa Nua-Ghaeilge. She successfully achieved the Foras na Gaeilge translators seal of accreditation in 2006.
She is currently working on a Ph.D. on Phrasal Verbs in the Irish Language
